Salvation

HOW CAN YOU RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE?

ETERNAL LIFE IS A FREE GIFT

Eternal life can't be bought or earned by living a good life or doing good deeds.

Ephesians 2:8-9  “For by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is a gift of God– not by works,  so that no one can boast.”

EVERYONE IS GUILTY OF OFFENDING GOD'S PERFECT HOLINESS.

No man or woman has lived a life of perfect obedience to God.

Romans 3:23 “...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” Ecclesiastes 7:20 “There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins.”

The consequences of offending God’s holiness are death and eternal separation from God. Man was created to enjoy God and have fellowship with him forever.  But because of sin, we’re separated from God’s comfort forever.

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death…”

Jesus Christ has paid the penalty for your sin. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, became man, lived a perfect life, was nailed to a cross and died, then rose from the dead 3 days later.  He became the

perfect substitute sacrifice for his people, dying in their place. John 1:29 “ Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”

2 Corinthians 5:21 “God made Him (Christ) who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” The only way to receive the gift of eternal life is through faith in Jesus Christ. God freely gives the incredible gift of eternal life to all who believe– that is, to all who trust in Christ alone for their eternity.  Saving faith is more than intellectual acknowledgement; it is complete trust in Christ alone for salvation.

Acts 16:30-31 “He (the jailer) brought them out and asked, ‘Sirs, what
must I do to be saved?’  They replied, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you
will be saved…’ “

A PRAYER OF COMMITMENT

God, I realize that I have offended Your holiness and that I am separated from You by my sin.  I ask you to forgive me for my wrongs on the basis of the payment Jesus Christ made for me on the cross.

I ask you to be the Lord of my life, and I want to live my life to please You.  Guide me, direct me, and  help me grow closer to You.

I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen
